3 quickest ways to find ancient debris in Minecraft 1.18 update

Ancient debris is a rare metal in Minecraft, producing on the Nether world. Added to the game with the Minecraft 1.16 update.

One of the main objectives of multiplayer games in survival game mode is to acquire Netherite tools and weapons, and ancient debris is the only source of it.

After discovering ancient debris, players can melt it to find the remains of Netherite. With four pieces of Netherite, players can earn Netherite ingots by combining them with gold coins.

1) Using effective mining methods

Over the years, the community has discovered a number of mining methods that can help increase players' access to rare metals, such as diamonds and ancient debris.

Two of the most effective methods of excavating ancient waste are branch mining and mining. In a branch mine, the player digs a few blocks, makes a path, then turns left and digs five blocks (both upper and lower) in both directions. By repeating this process, players can get a few ancient debris ore.

Mining is very similar to branch mining. However, in this method, the player digs a straight line as long as he wants and then returns to the starting position. However, players should be aware of lava.

2) Mining in the right place

All the ores in Minecraft have a height range among which they can produce. This list of ancient debris is quite large. At Nether, ancient debris produces between levels of Y 8 and 119.

However, it is not a good idea to start mining at any length of this range because the chances of ancient debris producing at many Y levels are very low. On average, players will find a large amount of ancient debris at Y 15.

3) Using TNT or Beds to blow up unnecessary blocks

Ancient debris has a high explosion resistance compared to most blocks in Minecraft. By blasting TNT blocks or beds in the game, players can remove blocks around ancient debris to expose the metal itself.
